You came in to my life
With promises of love and devotion
I followed you blindly
Into your web of deceit.

I use to look into your eyes
And find the universe there
Now I see nothing
But lonliness and dispair.

The beautiful lies you told me
Of happiness, marriage, and forever
Spinning around in oblivious love
Until the day I finally fell.

And now I'm stuck in oblivion
Unable to move backwards
And afraid to move forwards
So the question I leave with now is:
Where do I go from here?

Hi Jaime - this poem's raw emotions are evident. I know this feeling and am sympatico believe me. Thanks for bravely putting it out there! If this is a recent work or if you are unused to constructive criticism, you may not be ready to hear my advice on it from a literary POV - to the extent my opinion is worth anything. If you feel you are, you can always email me via my profile and I'll be happy to give you my opinion. Cheers. There's promise in this!

Extremely Familiar...
Raw.. is right i agree. I too have had the displeasure of being here, honestly recently.
so now that you are not unique, and now know that you are not alone, you can take solace in knowing that it gets better as time goes by and you keep busy writing out your feelings.

Thank you for being REAL.
