A children’s story by:
I have a friend. His name is Me.
His name is Me, just like me.
My name is Me, too. They call me Me One.
My friend, they call Me Two, We‘re both a lot of fun.
We both have red shoes and matching red hats.
And matching red turtles and matching red cats.
His cat’s name is Paco. We call him Paco Two.
I have Paco One. Look what the Paco’s do.
They both wear blue bonnets and banana bow ties.
And both hop around the kitchen, trying to catch flies.
The flies move very quickly. They can fly really high.
The Paco’s have already caught 1 and 2 and 3 Fly.
We also have fun looking at the sky
Finding shapes in the clouds floating way up high
“I see a turkey,” Me Two pointed and said.
“Me, too,” I told him pointing too. “I mean Me One, too, instead.”
We giggled and laughed like we do every time,
Our names get so mixed up when we agree about the sky.
Like one day in class when the teacher stood and said,
“Please read the next lesson, Me.” But I got up instead.
“Not you, Me One. I want Me Two to read.
And I wish you’d pick new nicknames and stop confusing me.”
“If it was that easy,” I told her. “I would believe me.
But we are who we are and that’s all we’re supposed to be.”
And it’s true what I told her, Me Two and Me agree.
There’s no one else like yourself. . .
Like You and Me Two and Me.
