Facing The Rising Sun

The roaring sea speaks to us
Don’t let our mind be blinded
God of Heaven, earth, and beneath
The earth; talks to us through the sun
Stars, wind, and the floating moon
Sometimes, I feel like he speaks to
Me through birds, dogs, cats, even flowers
As I caress a flower, it bursts into laughter
And I find myself laughing – laughing with joy
Looking at the birds getting ready to hibernate
All flying eastward bound --- can’t play with
My dog ‘Butch’ anymore! Evil came and killed him
But I know his spirit is with the Lord, even now, I
Feel his presence; I miss my ‘butch’ he was my baby
Those killer ‘pit bulls’ and its owner will get theirs
My Lord will fight that battle for me------------------
Thou has brought me this far, will carry me further
Facing the rising sun or not; I know all is well ------

"If we will seek the counsel of the One who keeps us, and not of our own understanding; Then we would accomplish much, much more" - ~Jeannie Simpson~
