You think I don’t know,
but I do.
I see right through the game,
throw the rock and hide the hand,
your strategy, brilliant.
I may not have noticed
if you’d kept it smooth and low key
but your breathing has become deeper and
your eyes hide not your obsession.
You calculate precisely how
you’ll break me down,
and wear me out.
Certain are you that I’ll cave in and say yes.
Player beware…
once the moves are made
and your cover blown
you’ll be mine to do with as I choose.
The rules are set, all players in place,
so proceed with caution
for once we begin
they'll be no turning back…

I am on a journey. Looking for Me. Everyday I get a little closer. The more time goes by the more I realize I'm always changing. This journey could take forever... Renae L. Soler

Nae's player
There is a texture to this poem, and I can't locate it, it may be in the line breaks, or the punctuation, but it works very well to convey an ambience of calculated risk, that moment which follows the slit-eyed realization that these players are evenly matched for this game.

It's clear that nobody's a beginner here, and that the posturing has already begun.

It would be intersting, Nae, to see this poem followed by another where there's the actual play going on, and then another, where the winner is identified...

Thanks for this heart-mind mood.

oh oh oh
This is my favorite of yours. Your writing is getting tighter and more solid everyday. Good work girl, you'll soon be publishing these things before you know it.

My only other comment would be....More please???

Oh Chica, a "more please" coming from you sounds wonderful. I will deliver, scouts honor.

Bobby, thank you so much for stopping by. Nope I can't kid a kidder but it is so fun to try.

Beware?
Supremacy, beyond defeat,
Is this the way it's won?
It sound to me it just a game,
that lets you have some fun.

Now me, I relish in defeat
I let 'my' defences fall.
For only when we bear our souls,
can we really share it all.

But I also love a battle
as long as no one's hurt.
But I know I'd lose,(but like it)
if I took on Lit Org's flirt!
