I'm Leaving

Crystalline rivers flow
From hooded eyes
Fear and confusion seethes
From the bitter orbs

The eyes call out hesitantly
"Where am I? Is someone there?"
But not a soul hears the cries
Of lone dismayed psyche

Emotions pitch and reel
Like waves upon stormy seas
Body tossed by angry waves
Torn by the fearful gale

Drowning in emotions
Losing sight of what is true
Depression begins his conquest
On sorrowful shadow of humanity

Cursed body
Cursed mind and soul
Why do you taunt?
Why do you cry?

With a kiss of Death
With the bite of a snake
And harsh silver fangs
My blood is drawn

Pools of crimson
Form upon pale tiles
I'm running away
From this morbid reality

White winged angels descend
From within the depths of Heaven
Downfall from their grace unnoticed
Eyes focused on the struggling soul

Hands reach out
Grasping desperately for the other
Who fights an unseen battle
Against clinging strands of life

"Don't leave us!"
The cherubs' cries far away
As the light fades
From tearing azure eyes

"You're running, sinner"
A voice inside accuses
"Yes, I'm running away"
"And I'm not coming back"

Pulse forever ended
Body laying spiritless
Tears of the beloved fall
Shed only for the forsaken souls

------
Sometimes, when you make an omelette, you have to kill a few people...
