i know,
if given half a chance,
that i could walk a thousand miles,
(without a blister)
without messing my hair,
(if the wind was right)
these people,
for some reason,
won't believe that.
they won't give me the right shoes,
(for my journey)
and the laces,
that's another story.
the grass looks exceptionally green today.
why do things,
(that were so simple yesterday)
seem so difficult today?
i'm still the same,
(perhaps even better)
with another day under my belt.
oh, to take that first step
(even without the laces)
