I have heard the dead bird singing

As the crimson moon shone bright

Of love and lust and lonlyness

As the crimson moon shone bright

It told me of the world it saw

As the crimson moon shone bright

And how it was full of hate and pain

As the crimson moon shone bright

It told me it was glad to die

As the crimson moon shone bright

And happy to leav the world behind

As the crimson moon shone bright

I have heard the dead bird singing

As the crimson moon shone bright

As The Crimson Moon Shone Bright
Hi Darkfairy!

This poem certainly emanates a spooky and sad atmosphere. While I do like the refrain, "As the crimson moon shone bright," using it seven times would seem a bit excessive; perhaps you could replace 3 or 4 of those repetitions with other phrases which would, in passing, flesh out the poem and give it more descriptive character.
