A prayer for you to tack upon the wall
May your skeleton support the flesh you wear
May the face you make be remembered
for a while
As you travel through this veil of tears
As you rattle your skull with a brilliant
white smile
And walk along the curious winding traces
Remember now that trick
of time
That but for a while you will be
all mine

Nice one
I liked this a lot. Perhaps because it's in line with the holiday it's written for. :-)

Brickhouse
A good poem indeed! Makes me think of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Wrong Turn (because of the line 'May the face you make be remembered for a while'. I would say this says something even deeper than what it just seemed to say at first. Well-wishing someone in a morbid way, this gives me the chills! Happy Holloween, Brick. :)

The Spirit of Things
I just thought it would be nice to spread a little Halloween Cheer for the coming days of the dead festivities.
Thanks, Penelope; it's always nice to hear from you. You write so well.
Thanks to you too, Peter. Yesss. Taking wrong turns seems to be what it is all about.
