We took from the other
Not maliciously or selfishly
We took what we needed to learn.

We see only what we learned from the other
Not seeing what we offered in return.
We took from each other,
And unwittingly,
Gave to each other without plan or design.

The taking enabled the giving.
Like a flower takes water to grow,
To give oxygen to the gardener.
The gardener, enjoying the beauty of the flower,
Breathes back CO2 as he talks to and nurtures the flower.
An endless cycle.

Give and take.

What we took is not what the other gave.
The gardener is given the oxygen,
But made breathless by the beauty he takes.
The flower takes the water,
But is given care, a safe place and gardenerís breath of life.
For if the beauty of the flower did not exist,
The gardener would not protect or be near the flower to breathe on it.
And if the water was not taken by the flower,
It could not be nourished to grow to be beautiful,
And give back the life breath.
