Why so much pain in my heart
It tears my concious apart
I'll never, it seems
Make good on my dreams
Myself, my posionous dart

Personal growth should be hard
From which I seem to be barred
Is it in my head
Is it real instead
Regardless, confidence scarred

I've none to blame but myself
Excuses fill up my shelf
I think I'm lazy
Some say I'm crazy
I'm inept, derelict elf

Mind says "You can't even write!"
Heart, "Even try as you might!"
So lament, I must
My will turns to rust
My Selfish dreams fade from sight
