I sit here and push keys and push delete and push defeat.
All I ever wanted to do is write.
I don't have much of a story to tell but yet I want to say something.
I want to tell the greatest story ever told next to Jesus Christ, but I don't know what to say.
I self-published my first novel and sold as many as I could to all my best friends, but this does not make me a writer just a man with a few friends.
I want to tell a story that is so vivid and exciting that T.V. shows will call me and beg me to do shows and people in Paris will drink coffee and tell other people how they think I meant something in one of my writings.
Some day and some day soon you will hear about me and my writings and I will sit next to the greats.
But yet and still here I sit with nothing to say. Thank you for reading this.

Great post, but are you allowed to rate your own writing?

I like the way the writing almost flows like a free-verse poem.

Regarding rating your own piece:

If I was to rate a piece, I would ask a few, is it grammatically sound? Is it original and/or creative? Does it say anything new or presented in fresh form? Is their a unique perspective? (I'd be deducting points if any of these were answered with no.)

Does it move me? Make me think?...Yes = +.

Or is it just: wordy?..banal?..merely derivative?..uninspiring?..pedestrian?..(More deductions,if yes.)...

Could I have written it?..If no, I'd add points.

I've posted a poem here: "Not a poem for a 10"...

Best of luck in your pursuit,
Robert William
