The Beast is Dead

Clear and non existent
a memory remains distant
blown into oblivion
lies a dark soul within

bitterness reeks at the very core
as the raven cried "evermore"
buzzards circled such decay
even the stench drove them away

fermented evil rose with yeast
gluttonous growth became the beast
feeding upon the hearts of gold
his own organ bought and sold

today there is a shining light
having overcome the hideous night
never to again in darkness dwell
but remains the story I forever tell......

Bob Shank June 7th, 2005
Many of my yesterdays continue
to haunt my tomorrows, but today
I write of my sorrows...........

"If I told you my reality, you'd
say I have a great imagination,
If I told you my imagination, you'd
say I've lost touch with reality"-Bob Shank, 2004
