Feel the gunshot

Through your body
Like a

road
On the way to prison.
When it tears through,
Try not to think about
Twisting

and

Turning;
Think about the son you'll be seeing soon--
And the man living by steel that will
'Feel' the

Turn
Of fire without rain.
Even if you won't be there,
Or if time ceases existence,
Know that, looking back,
Twists
Can't be prevented
Or relented
You just have to
let them happen.
The bullet's gone
...farther...
Twisting

and

Turning
So let your son run;
Let yourself die.

Good imagery
I liked the poem very much down to the line ending with "happen." I felt the words and images were very strong to that point. After that, the strength of it left for me, and I was disapppointed with the last line. Keep in mind I am not a literary critic, just speaking about personal preference here.
