I Hate You
the rant and ravings
uttered from soured lips
a favorite road traveled
for adolescent trips
it starts with being denied
access to your wants and needs
continuing to fester growth
with the materialistic greed
usually aimed at parents
who somehow came to be in control
childhood thoughts can't conceive
that they created the soul
feeling confused and abused
deep into your teens
carrying a heart of stone
for the breast that once weaned
a little older now
yet you still haven't learned
that hatred will one day consume you
and you'll be the one getting burned
