One for the Oldies

So many love songs touched our hearts
So many love songs wrote our words
So many love songs dried our tears
And so many others let go out of our fears

From Frank Sinatra to Englbert Humperdink
From Elvis Presley to Shirley Bassey
From Mary Hopkins, to Abba,
And more and more

Those were the days
And Strangers in the night
More for the way it used to be

Every time they touch the strings of my soul
With their music
And their words
Into a trance I go in this wonderful far land
With all its love
Pain and anguish,
Tenderness and serenity

Forever will be in debt to those
Who taught me the such emotions
With such purity
With every tear that slides along my cheek
With every smile that draws upon my lips
With every moment of sadness
And every moment of happiness

You made my world a better place
You made my heart a loving place
You made my eyes a tender gaze
You rendered my words a loving line
That was to captivate other’s eyes
Minds and souls

For it was you all my 1st teachers
My teachers of love
My teachers of emotions
My teachers of music

And all I can say
Is thank you for coming here
Thank you for playing your songs
And thank to you
I can say ..
I did it My Way..
Thanks to you
I’ll Dance in the Rain
Thanks to you
I’ll say Thank you for the music..

In in the end all I have to say
I’m giving one..
This one is for the Love songs
This one is for the loved ones
This one is for the oldies..

Thank you..

Golden oldies
As an oldie but goodie myself...I enjoyed this poem...I was a teen in the late 50s early 60s and everytime I hear a love song or Doo Whop I remember who I was with or where I was at that moment in time...thanks for bringing back old memories...Kacee
