Stupid Little Scab

Ugly little scab
Soft as granite rock
Designed to cover up
The most sensitive of spots

Hide beneath the cotton
Of razor sharp shirt cuffs
As you slowly interlock
And make the bleeding stop

Super secret scar
No one can ever see
When I am all alone
Can you comfort me?

You never stay for breakfast
And you're rarely 'round for tea
But you will be my favourite guest
At my pity party

Sorry shameful sore
Remind me of my past
Sometimes a little lie
Sometimes a leather mask

You always made me cry
You sometimes made me laugh
Indigo shades around me eye
I swore you'd be the last

I wish it couldn't cut me
Hideous tiny shield
Outside you are so ugly
Inside you help me heal

Stupid little scab
Hiding all my sin
I'm hoping that someday
You'll take over my skin
