The world would tell me
Not to be discouraged
Not to look so cross
Not to wear this frown.
For, supposedly, I have a bright future
One with promise
And hope.
But they donít see my heart,
They donít know how I cope.

They donít see the pain that lies within
Because I lack the love of one whose heart Iíll never win.
One whose face Iíll never see the dawn shine upon
This love that I have
Will it someday be gone?

Sometimes I wish I could shout it to the world
Iím not the one,
Iím not your girl.

I wish I could love you...
Long, hard, strong,
And, most of all, free.

My reality is, though,
That when the dust clears...
Itíll just be...

"Keep your gloves up!"
