Just like a woman
They can be dangerous.

But just like a woman
There is beauty.

Beauty is there all over,
One only need look

In the way they
Are put together

Adorned, painted,
Sculpted, and quaffed.

It’s there in their lines
Their plane; their very skin.

In sight and feel and touch
And possibly the very fact
They can be deadly
Lends to their beauty.

It is certain though
They have been prized
Since their beginning.

And like a good woman
They comfort and stand with you

Against all odds, by your side
To aid and defend.

Just as in the beauty
That abounds in the wife

There’s beauty in the steel
Of the gun and the knife.

I know just what you mean, Charmr.

Such is the Tao.

Thanks
Thank-You John...I have been an admirer of the knife and gun my whole life. I also collect them as well. It is good to know that you too like the steel, probably not very many poets with our taste, but two out of a million is'nt too bad I suppose.

Romay, Steely,
Strong and true. I read this several times before making any comment. I would find something more each time. Then I also thought of those other "steel" things in your life.
Been thinking of the many meaningful, yet simple things that capture our interests. Your tools of your trade, your steel guitars....your John Deere.
I can't figure out how people can live as a couch potato when there is so much else to life, to really life and work it.
You've unlocked some good thoughts with this poem. You have come a long way in over the year you have been writing and each one is a delight to read, even several times.

Thanks for sharing of yourself like this, its nice.

Most respectfully,
Darlene

(somehow poetry of potato mashers, wisks, stainless steel tools of my every day existance just doesn't seem so interesting! ! Haha.)

Thank-You Dar
Well It is true there are many beautiful things of steel that I find interesting. Thanks for the nice comment. It was a typo I'm sure but what I think you mean is the fifty-one years I've been writing.
