We enter this world
exiting a cavern of loving darkness
into a tunnel towards
beautiful bright light.

During our formative years
many of us, at some point,
learn to fear the darkness
that we once embraced
within our personal womb.

Then, during adulthood,
we frequently face many,
so many dark and frightening
challenges and situations so
filled with uncertainty
that in numerous ways
we reface our childhood
dragons, demons, and monsters
from the fear of darkness once more.

And then, so very quickly,
our senior and twilight days arrive
and we wonder what ever
happened to those endless
anticipated years of light and
enlightenment that we looked
so forward to in our youth.

Then, one predestined day,
our sunset soon arrives and
we realize in our hearts and souls
that before we find our new
tunnel of beautiful bright light
that darkness always returns.
