Guilty as Charged

I'm guilty as charged, for I've been away,
Not away from my home, for that's where I stay.
But away from my friends in this literary zone,
I'm missing the place that I call second home.

It isn't my muse, for it waits in it's turn,
It isn't that now all the writers I shurn.
It's just that my job now takes all of my time.
And the rest of my interests just all wait in line.

If ever I find a few moments to spare,
It's precious for me and my family to share.
The only time I can grab time for my pen,
Is when they've gone to bed, I can write a bit then.

For each of my days always starts before seven,
To have a lie in would seem like I'm in heaven.
A workforce of dozens needs juggling most times,
For sickness needs cover, no time to write rhymes.

It's not long ago I had much less to do,
Then I had the time to share poetry with you.
To read all your work and to share every line.
But there's no holding back the cruel master called time.

So forgive me my absence and honest critique,
Just remember I'm always around as you speak.
You know me by now, so I hope you will find,
Sometimes my opinions will form in your mind.

For psychic connection is one of my trends,
That way I'm surounded by all of my friends.
When I'm really busy I'm not on my own,
But share all you kinship at work or at home.

There's no way I'm absent, it's just that I'm not there.
For thoughts travel freely around in the air.
So think of me often, like I think of you.
For this kind of friendship will always stay true.

As I'm always saying 'It's all in the mind.'
And a life full of fun is the thing you will find.
If only you sure that your friends always stay,
Around you when needed throughout every day.

Ivor G Davies

The moment created this second, is a moment that's going to last.
It lives the full spectrum of time, the future, the present and past.

Ivor, Ivor
Ivor, I'm surprised you've taken
To bringing home proverbial bacon
This from one who has been un-mired
by being removed from work - retired!
Forgive me now if I emote
The merest shadow of a gloat.
We will miss you until you come again
to toss them pithy comments in!
Best to ya!

What is it with comments that are always in rhyme?
Do you people have nothing to do with your time?

Get yourselves jobs like a real nine to fiver
And stop sitting here and baiting poor Ivor

Although well intentioned I'm sure you will note
"I don't want to be crude" I quote, quote unquote

But it seems that while you are whiling away
writing your rhymes down throughout most the day

Poor Ivor is working so don't give him flack
Give him some time and I'm sure he'll be back

To Penny and Parky, please don't place fault
and take what I've baked with a small pinch of salt

Like or dislike but believe what I say
I'm not picking a fight cause that's like 'so yesterday'

Time for Rhyme
For Sam, Pen and Emlyn, who gave up their time,
To critique my lifestyle in poetic rhyme.
I profer my thanks, though it now plain to me,
That rhyming's contageous and caught by you three.

Now Sam, it's not choice that I bring home the bacon,
It's just raising kids sees my money is taken.
Oh, yes I retired, I remember the day,
But my motgage requires that I bring home some pay!

Now Pen to be missed, without taking the hump,
Feels like I've made friends and I've played my best trump.
Though I know time is money, I'll always find time,
To chatter with friends on this internet line.

And Emlyn, now tell me, just what can I say?
I wish I could just work a nine to five day!
Though time's very precious, you just gave yours to me,
And proved once again just what true friendship can be.

Rhyming with Ivor
Ivor, dear boy,
Where have you been
I've missed you here
My rhyming twin
I've checked all the comments
And the Poetry file
No one has seen you
For quite awhile
I've plastered your photo
On Telephone poles
Scoured the neighborhood
Of long lost souls
Even the local
Bartender swore
It's been ages since
You walked in the door
The other evening
I couldn't sleep
I must have counted
A million sheep
Then all of a sudden
I heard your voice
Explaining that
You had no choice
You couldn't be with us
All of this time
For your poor old brain
Had run out of Rhyme!

Rupert the Bear!
Run out of rhyme? No run out of time.
In rhythm my soul will always mark time.
I think it's from reading 'bout Rupert the Bear,
Narration in rhythm was always seen there!

But now you have joined us in rhythm and verse,
I guess that these comments will only get worse.
For if 'your' loyal fans, copy you in this way,
I'm sure that I'll have to find more time to stay.

My time though just lately is not always mine,
For helping our punters enjoy Sky's 'prime-time'.
Though that's not my object, it's just to earn dough.
So we can survive in the real world you know.

I'm working on teaching my staff how to run,
Without an ops manager wiping their bum.
Though to be fair, it's the way they've been treated,
A pattern I hope to stop being repeated.

For my purpose in life is to set people free,
To take charge of living and have fun like me.
Though when this is done, then I have to admit,
It'll help me find time to rest up for a bit!

So now there you have it, although in bad verse,
If I can help others, I'll have time for verse.
So bring on your comments, I think you'll agree,
That in helping my charges I'll also help me!

Time in Reverse
And to correct the 'bad verse':

So now there you have it, although in bad verse,
If I can help others, I'll put time in reverse.
So bring on your comments, I think you'll agree,
That in helping my charges I'll also help me!
