Moral rightness, with perceived blessing of God, finds us in a struggle old as war, in name of religion.

Transforming an entire geopolitical region to our way of thinking, a region ruled and/or controlled by varied religious/sectarian factions, is our current endeavor.

This epic struggle, presented as a "War on Terror," is not so simple. Terrorist tactics are just that. They are tactical actions and/or responses. The weapons our perceived enemies deploy are outdated and primative. Although their bombs may be crude, their resolve rivals ours. They use any method available to repel us.

To us, their methods appear insane. Of course they are insane. War is insane. Would a cruise missle guided through your neighbor's window, from a thousand miles away, not appear insane? Would/does that not bring fear and terror?

It's all relative to perception. This is a conflict of those perceptions. The only thing for sure is that it won't be resolved as long as belief of moral and/or religious rightness, with perceived blessing of God, drives each side. This always has and always will be a failed path to peace.

Ultimately, we can only change (enlighten) ourselves...All of us. It is this conflict we first must win. Then, and only then, may we live in a State of Peace. This enlightenment approach may seem impossible. Killing each other until Armageddon would be a much easier pursuit. We have milleniums of practice and a plethora of munitions.

Which path we choose, may well determine our cumulative fate on this orb.

Is what we make, and unfortunately some people choose to be evil. So many of us is trying to configure out the world when we know what the word says. Bobby, all I can say on this matter is that the Bible is FULFILLING every day we step out of our house, look around and see, or hear about an horrific accident that has taken place. If people not raping, killing, or whatever; it's always something happening. (tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, something;} All we can do is pray and have faith, and ask God to have mercy upon us all.

Bobby, a spiritual warfare is going on in this world.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; But of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
(II Timothy 1:7)

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His Understanding.
(Isaiah 40: 28-31)

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
(Ephesians 6:12)

that's why we must put on the whole armor of God.

Thanks for the write.

Raising Consciousness Levels
..collectively and individually, is what I speak of. Jeannie, this approach would require transcending current "dogmatic" thinking. Thanks for reading and letting me know.

I rest my case.

American colonial "insurgents" relied upon what the British perceived as "terrorist" tactics to achieve victory, with the aid of a meddling nation's support (France). I am comparing, not equating, these conflicts.

IF (HUGE IF) I believed my cause were just, what means would I be willing to employ in pursuit of victory? If suicide bombers and rocks were my best response against a trillion-dollar war machine, would I dare to proceed?

Hell no! I would squawk like a chicken and run like hell.

Many others, however, would and indeed do respond to such a call to arms.

We must begin to address the reasons for which they perceive their cause to be a just one.

I can think of a few.

p.s. re "perception"

I believe that the Armor of God is still on factory back order, insofar as our troops are concerned.

Tina Louise/ Conflicted
Much appreciated. Have posted related poem, "In We."

"Despair can disempower." Yes. It also fuels hatred and violent actions. We in West are fortunate in countless ways. Our fortune has often come at expense of others around planet...Our exploitive actions eventually cause reactions. Karmic Lessons of History 101.

Revenge Served Cold
With the killing of bin Laden, Americans celebrate a symbolic victory- as the wars continue..

Worldwide travel alerts have been issued for United States citizens.

To the CIA operatives and Navy SEALS, who carried out the mission into Pakistan,

Obama keeps his word AGAIN!
Once again, President Obama has trumped (pun intended)the nay sayers!

Bush tried..and indeed claimed victory, ten years ago...pride indeed comes before a fall!

Thank you President Obama for fulfilling your number one campaign promise.

That's TWO for one this week...way to go Pres!

Also...a silent prayer for the navy Seals and others who put their lives in jeapordy to achieve this wonderful mission...and also all Bin Laden' victims, including the thousands of people he slaughterd on 9/11!

Revenge is sweet indeed!

"We will get him."
- President Bush [2001]

"We" meant the United States. "We" did "get him." The intel which finally lead to the demise of bin Laden began more than four years ago, at GITMO. The CIA finally tracked him down last summer. What kind of back-deal, if any, was made with Pakistan is unknown.

Thousands of United States soldiers have given their lives in this struggle. They also share in the credit...and of course, the operatives and Navy SEAL Team that went into Pakistan.

May 3rd, 2003, after the Iraqi Army was defeated, President Bush said, "The Battle of Iraq is one victory in a war on terror that began September 11, 2001, and still goes on."

On December 13, 2003, Saddam Hussein was captured. That was another victory.

The war continues.

KSM gave up the name
Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, being held at Guantanamo Bay, awaitng trial as "the principal architect of the 9/11 attacks"..gave up the nickname of one of the two brothers more than four years ago. The CIA eventually discovered his name, which finally lead them to the compound in Pakistan.

Dancing and Singing

Obama didnt get Osama.... The military did the dirty work as always. The machine that did it was started years back and anyone could have been in charge when all the pieces fell into place

Americans (and our troops/ civilians) will pay. If anyone thinks killing Osama was free.... It was not and will not be! Some people are seriously pissed off (to say the least) and revenge will be taken. Hope its not in my town

There will be lots of people Not Yet "Well Known" that will carry on Osamas fight.... Osama is now a Martyr

I only wish his own kind had shot him in some squabble or he had died of some ailment.... keeping the Americans and our troops out of the equation.

Most of the people now Beating Their Chests are no more than Armchair Warriors.....

Eric's take
well said

The CIA, private operatives and the United States military accomplished the mission of finding and killing Osama bin Laden.

More than four years ago, intel acquired at GITMO [which the current President promised during his campaign to close], helped greatly in the mission.

The "war" is far from over.

Politics as usual!
Yes gentlemen...I understand the background of the info that led to this. However...It WAS Obama who gave a direct order to go in NOW!

He could have let it slide over for his next term or let the new President deal with it...but he chose to do it NOW and not lose any more chances like Bush did!

Can't you give the guy his due...or are politics going to be the order of the day. If we found out he lost this opportunity, the opposition would have clobbered him for that!

Let's just all thank God it turned out the way it did and gave some measure of closure to the famillies of all his victims!

It was your initial comments first two sentences which were "political." My comments about this matter show the continuity of agenda, which is shown by the efforts of both the Bush and present administration. It has been a process.

By the way, "ten years ago"..9/11 hadn't yet happened.

And, "politically" speaking, this was the perfect time to act.
