Superstar - By Daniel L. Tracy

Special effects direct me to deny
the pride I'd hide with my demise
You see, I cannot be killed
and I will not be willed
to bill your name above mine
on the marquee
instead I choose to be
the superstar you see on your
I ain't no hippie that's trippy
I'm a new found
well-rounded hero
for a new age
An age where those who say they rage
do nothing but whine
as for my rage
I'll drink it like water
and turn it into wine
and dine on the supplements
that are the implements of
my behavior as the
poetic savior of tomorrow's sunsets
and those who pray for today

Kung Fu Manchu
I really like the pace of this piece, it's poetic in the same rapid fire, hellbent, frentic way that Jackie Chan movies are choreographed. I love it! I can't make myself read this work slow, and believe me I tried. It's a bit more cocksure than I'm used to, and has none of that wistfulness of some of your other work.. but damn does it have swagger..
