Oh Sappho of the whispered word,
the veiled sigh, the crimson flush!
Oh Sappho of the silver voice
that floats upon the twilight wind!

To hear the hushed and tremb'ling twang
of your lyre, sweetly garlanded,
and fragrant with the moonlit nights
of graceful dances, woven songs!

To dream of your deep-shadowed eyes,
your lips, those portals fairy thin
of secrets lighter than the breath
of beauty all-extinguishing.

I especially like the third stanza. You've captured that larger than life elure and sexual energy beneath a graceful, etherial image associated with Sapho. Very nice. -Philo
