Author’s note: After penning this early last October I shared it with my wife. She said “You should send this to Neil Diamond”. I replied, “No dear, you mean Neil Young.”

I never sent it to either Neil, but it might be a good time for new lyrics for Mr. Diamond’s “They’re Coming to America”. Maybe some other time- for now, here’s this for your enjoyment or displeasure.

Kill Iraqis for a Free World

(to the tune of Neil Young’s “Keep on Rockin’ in the Free World”)

He let Osama slip away
in Afghanistan
while he tried to one-up daddy Bush
by capturing Saddam

Well they found him in a hole
made a big deal out of it
but they never found the weapons
that would justify this shit

Kill Iraqis for a free world
(repeat as necessary)

He cut taxes for the rich
Made the surplus go away
Now he’s running up a deficit
our children have to pay

A compassionate conservative
conserving his compassion
for his oil baron buddies
in the Halliburton fashion

Kill Iraqis for a free world
(repeat as necessary)

There’s a point or two of light
for the unemployed man
but it’s for poverty wages
and no benefits plan

But what I can’t believe
is people suffering this shit
would re-elect the asshole
who’s responsible for it

Kill our children for the right wing
(repeat as necessary)

Well his daddy freed Kuwait
but Kuwait is still not free
except to sell us oil for our SUV’s

It was Saudis flew those planes
killed our people- stabbed our back
but the Saudis own the Bushes
so they blamed it on Iraq

Keep on dyin’ for the rich world
(repeat ad nauseum)

"A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesman and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do."

- Ralph 'Where's Waldo' Emerson

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like. And I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."
- Bilbo Baggins

soos- Am still smiling over your conversation with "wife."

Wasn't it Weird Al Yankovic who did all the "remakes" of songs, changing the lyrics?..

Has "fish" thawed?

Perhaps you could sell the rights to this to Mr. M. Moore?

I loved this, I even belted it out loud.\

Hey dude these are some cool lyrics and I what your saying is true. Man that whole war is BS nothing but lies. Only idiots believe that we're fighting for freedom. Freedom for Bush a to make money for his rich oily ass self and his evil corperation greedy friends that live inside his oily ass! I ain't going over there and dying so them fuckers can get richer.

This was great. What great satire. I didn't say I agreed with it, but it is very funny. Ah, the ways of Soos.

PS: I would have liked to hear androo sing it. that would be a hoot too.

Free World Order

Yes RW, that’s Al. I used to quote him in my bio thusly: “I’d rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy” but it’s somebody else’s song. Thanks.

Droo, awaiting DVD- maybe duet with-

a kinder gentler William Hill?
That would make it funny!(?)

ZZ dude I have the utmost respect and admiration for our military people but I wouldn’t wanna be 1 right now

Fairplay- it’s weird how we attacked the one Axis of Evil nation with no nuclear program.

Macbeth- like I always say “ if you can’t be dark be angry” (or was that you?).

Felinewhip- I bet you could tell a tale or nine

Thanks to all

Title caught my attention. Had to see if you were serious. Glad you weren't. Or... you know what I mean.

Good lyrics.

Also, glad you're familiar with both Neils- and the difference between the two. There's hope for the world yet.

Soodo President
Very well written. No need to read essays when the same thing can be said in a song.

95% of the stuff I read about George Bush is against him and yet he still got re-elected. I'll never be able to figure that one out.
