[started around 05-06-05, finished: 12-06-05]

She runs home to her room, her face damp with tears
No-one to talk to, or let out her fears
She keeps her silence, her mind is still screaming
But just like always, nobody hears

Sometimes I hate you so much
I hate you all
To a point where I wish you'd become nothing, breakdown and just fall
Have to pick up the pieces
Have nothing at all
These are the echoes of yesterday which have finally been called

Bitching and whining
You're fake but your presence is blinding
With one single shot and you'll reject me
As if you'd ever except me
And now some years on, the reaction is thankfully

Tall, flowing brown locks
They love you to pieces
God I wish you'd fall to pieces
Egotistical, arrogant, snob piece of trash
If you don't change your ways soon, you're gonna lose friends fast
The friends you have are not really yours
They talk about you when you're not there as if backstabbing is part of their laws
And another thing, while we're on the subject, sorry to be a bore,
The guys who you think are in love with you, they think you are whores

You walked away
Saw a brighter day
Couldn't be bothered?
Got something better?
Friends are forever, cut a bit of slack
Get the hell away from me and never come back

A single unproved rumour
You let out your nails
Digging them in
I feel them within
He laughs as we argue
He sits back and watches
He thinks he knows everything
He does know a secret, everything about
He plays on games and prides on verbal stains
Insecure he might be or unquestionably without a doubt

She offers a hand of ungenuine affection
The girl looks up and smiles, forgets the pain and rejection
Please tell me your secrets, they won't be told
Of course you can trust me, she looks up, she is smiling, but her eyes are still cold
Look at that girl who's walking up onto the stage
Isn't she weird? Isn't she different?
I will make up a physical flaw which to others is non-existant
She hears the girls laughing as she's walking past
One day she'll realise their friendship won't even last
She won't bother to admire those who to others inspire
Instead she will release and to another taste she will acquire
The person you will become has been you all along
She heard it once when listening to her favourite song
The day eventually came, the message rang true
People in the jaws of hell, this one day could be you
For the land of the superficial is only a lie
If you don't realise it in this lifetime, you'll realise it when you die
To some, popularity is the highest stakes
I will regret these sentences when tomorrow finally breaks

The hell is a memory if not a dream
A nightmare, throw it away along with the screams
It wasn't a fairytale, none of the mirage was the truth
Look inside yourself and you'll see the only person you're kidding is you
Speak up for yourself, don't dare be pushed around
Don't try to change, don't ever be bound
I won't regret these sentences now tomorrow has finally broken
I owe you nothing but distain, these words have spoken
There is no more holding back, I am finally open

Dreaded year of darkness
Be sent on your way
Explode your energy into a million pieces
Never infect the hearts of anyone ever
Regret, end it all right now
Or live to breathe in the agony
Looking to the wrong crowd for answers
Pathetic misused wasting of thoughts
Falling never-ending in sorrow
And be shaded in dark, shaded forever
Surrender to my power
You know you'll never escape
Live in a place where all bodies will sever

Depression, learnt a lesson
Got rid of unneeded moods and aggression
Received the much needed answers in time
There is no longer a question
Like an earthquake shakes and changes the land
Your colours filled the empty canvas
This is only the beginning, dont get too attached
Soon enough, the canvas will be wiped clean

Gasping for air in an ocean of tears
Found a float and rode back to shore
High tide, pounding unforgiving against the rocks
Found it would be the last time
Crawled from the seashore and promised never to return
Every mistake you make, a lesson is learned
The tide sweapt out
It dared never to try again
But it will come back, the question is guessing when

Enlightenment, suddenly the world ahead is brightly lit
Banishment, send those fears flying into the wall, the one that it will hit
Sit on the pavement, no way you'll shake and things have changed even just a little bit
Treasure it, life is made for enjoyment, don't you ever quit
Brightness, take hold and never ever let go of it

The skies are darkened, but there's a sunset breaking through
For every battle lost is another opportunity
For a new awakening to the world
Found the light at the end of the tunnel
There is passiveness at the end of the struggle
Give in and let it be, let it go and you'll never have trouble
Accept what is and just move on
You can do it, you are strong
Free your emotions, write a story, write a song
The world can be a hell, just relax and you will find
Be honest, be kind, let go of your negativity and come alive
It will never do you wrong

Everything's in balance, the heavens, the earth, the skies
Freedom will come, as much as negativity tries
Believe in yourself and others and you will conquer
I'm starting to think this poem couldn't possibly get any longer
The end of the story is that life is a gift
There are good times and bad times which will eventually shift
To some, negativity is the highest stakes
I will regret these sentences when tomorrow finally breaks

Themes and length
I love the recurring themes that happen all the way through, like "when tomorrow finally breaks", which really was the only one that I could remember.

Yeah, it was really long, I got a bit bored in the middle. I guess you can't really change that, and besides, I tend to get slightly bored. But I'm glad you acknowledged it: "I'm starting to think this poem couldn't possibly get any longer" Hahahaha :D

I like it!

(Was Dim Lights REALLY worth a 10, or were you just being friendly? :P)
