Look at you, you old hag
You're missing your button eye
You've lost your stuffing, so you sag.

She's lost interest in you,
She likes me more-
Because I'm new.

All my seams are stitched up tight
I'm not old and disgusting
She'll hold me close in bed at night.

No, you are wrong, don't you see?
It's because I'm so old
That she loves me.

My lost eye, loose seams
It takes love
To look like me.

You may be her new teddy bear,
But it's me that will always be there.

Teddy Bears
This poem is too many shades of the Velveteen Rabbit and Toy Story for me. It's a very familiar message without the endearing lines.

If there was a way to make it more about humans and body image in the end it would be a better write. As it stands it is a smidge cliche.
