I camped out in the line for the midnight showing of Star Wars: Episode III, Revenge of the Sith on Wednesday. The plan, a few weeks ago, was that I was going to tag along with a group of who I called "NERDS" (lovingly I might add)... they were going to camp out in line, and I was going to join them, mostly just so I could tell my kids later that I camped out. I figured that this was the last chance to camp out for Star Wars, and since I grew up on the stuff, I would regret it later if I didn't go all out just once. So I finagled a ticket from my buddy in this group of people, and planned on attending. What happened next is not QUITE as dramatic as Anakin's turn to the DArk Side, but this is MY blog so I can write it if I want.
Another friend decided to "tag along--" and she suggested we dress up for kicks. I volunteered (WHY????) to hit some thrift stores and get us a couple of Princess Leia dresses, and we would figure out how to do the hair. What I wound up doing, was going to 5 different thrift stores, a fabric store, and a dollar store. I was so excited that I found fake hair (the kind people use for weaving in temporary extensions, I guess)... AT THE DOLLAR STORE!!!
Due to me not finding a white dress that was suitable, I dressed up as Padme from Episode 2... white pants, white shirt, and a white capey thing. I endured a few taunts here and there from folks in the Walgreen's I had to pull into for a Pepsi and some lip gloss, and during the lengthy walk from the parking lot to the theater. THEN, as I opened the door and stepped into the cineplex, I was HOME. Star Wars nerds everywhere!!
I wish I could convey the excitement I felt at being at this party.... my friend had arrived at the theater at 745 am. I got there at 6 pm, and he was at the front of the line. It was great. . . . I was one of 3 people dressed as Padme...
wow, its late. I'm gonna have to finish this story on my next blog. Oh, the suspense you feel.... (that was a Jedi mind trick)

Wow, I am intrigued by your passion. I only wish I had that kind of love for anything. As for the writing, okay. A few spelling errors and alot of emphasis on words made it irritating at times. I am guilty of this, myself. I liked your fun tell of yourself.

Thanks Renee.... emphasis on words is how I talk, too. Irritating, at least I'm not leavin' off the g's on half of my words, because I tend to drawl, and then put emphasis on words--In my writing I am more grammatically correct, but my journal (blog) is more of me trying to convey the sense that I'm speaking to my audience. In OTHER words, its just me rambling. Like I'm doing now. Thanks for reading and commenting.
