The Deer
By: Sarah Ravenelle (Brightdark1)

A beautiful meadow full of lavender and daisies
Tall grass that bends in the slight summer wind
A forest of pine trees in the middle of nowhere

I see freedom and hope
And imagine what a life would be like with love

I sit beside this person I hate
I canít figure out why Iím here

Why donít I just run away and leave this all behind me

Life is not that easy

In the middle of the meadow
Stands a beautiful deer

So tall and proud
Itís chestnut coat gleaming in the bright noon sun

A glimmer of one
To one with such depression

How can life, so hard and full of pain

Hold treasures so wonderful and full of happiness

Thank you deer

You saved my life

For today

Bright spot
I've had those days. When it never quite seems worth it, only to be given hope by something completely unexpected. Good work.
