I have a secret to tell
I've been holding off on admitting
I don't wanna go home tonight
I know this is our first encounter
Please hold me a little closer
for I have this sneaking suspicion
once I go out that door
I wont see you again

Let me have this one request
If you'd be so kind
let us always have tonight

This is more than I could hope for
So let us lay a little longer
let us stay the harsh light that's coming
I don't wanna go home tonight
and years from now when I do you harm
Whenever I put you up in arms
When I try to apologize
Will we still have tonight

Oh Darling
I know we didn't have the best of beginnings
I've been holding off on admitting
I don't wanna go home tonight
I know we just met
but from that moment
(I knew this was right)
I felt a tugging on my heart

Years from now when I do you harm
Whenever I put you up in arms
and when I try to apologize
Will we still have tonight

Let me have this one request
If you'd be so kind
let us always have tonight

Oh Darling
I know we just met
but from that moment
I felt a tugging on my heart
As each one of these strings snap
Let me have this one request
If you'd be so kind
let us always have tonight

So true
Congratulations, you managed to convey the feeling of wanting to capture a moment in it's perfection because you realize when it's all said and done most relationships end badly. I really enjoyed reading this piece, excellent job portraying that emotion.
