I survive by love
And without it, I am a soul
With no heart to move
But rather an empty hole

I survive by love
And without it I am a mind
With no ability to solve
With no moments to remind

I survive by love
And without it, I am a person
Who is not able to sense the song of the dove
Or feel the warm of shining sun

I survive by love
And without it, then I am a heart
Who has no emotion to prove
But rather a feeling of falling apart

I survive by love
And without it I am a living corpse
Who would wander and would rove
In worlds of fakes and endless false

I survive by love
And without it, I am someone
Who cannot have a look above
Who cannot sense the rise of the dawn
And have a dream and a wish to be done

------
The sweet is never as sweet without the sour, and I know the sour which allows me to appreciate the sweet.

Love's Survivor
Hiba,

I agree with Tina, this poetry links perfectly and I like the way you extended the last stanza.

I think as you managed to move the rhyme up this stanza a bit it may have finished it nicely by making the last two lines a rhyming couplet, though still in the same stanza:

I survive by love
And without it, I am someone
Who cannot have a look above
Who cannot sense the rise of the dawn
Or have a dream or a wish to be born.

Just a thought... it was perfect anyway!

Surv...ivor
The title is better also and fits this better than survivor!

Like the signature says...
You seem to know the sour that makes your sweet so. But such youth doesn't normally know it this well, let alone well enough to deliver it as such an accurate inventory of inward activity.

Thank you again for your words.

sooooooo touching
I too am big-hearted and this pulled at my heartstrings. How sad that there are people out there that are blind to love and miss out on life. Love's power and aftermath cannot be measured or predicted but it is the one true light that will make your life whole. What a great poem to remind us of that. My favorite line is 'without it I am a living corpse'. Great one my dear, truly poetic!
Love your work BTW
