Chapter 2

We’ve been together for five years and you still haven’t asked me to marry you yet!” said Bryan. “I’m just not ready yet that’s all.” Justin said calmly. Bryan sat there at the kitchen table staring at his food. Toni and Bella came down the stairs and sit at the table. “So what’s up?” said Bella. “We heard you guys arguing, again.” “Bryans upset because I haven’t asked him to marry me yet.” Said Justin. “When in the hell are you guys going to get married anyways?” questioned Toni. “Look!” “I just don’t want to be pressured into getting married, ok!” yelled Justin. Justin leaves the table and goes outside. Bryan’s eyes fills with tears but holds it back. He gets up and goes outside to find Justin sitting in the grass. Bryan sits next to Justin and says, “Are you okay?” “I do want to marry you!” It’s just that I’m afraid of what my family would say.” “My family isn’t understandable as your is,” says Justin. “Justin I know that, I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want everyone to know we are married, says Bryan as he raises his voice. “Well you’re just going to have to wait!” yells Justin. Justin’s never been this mad before maybe he didn’t want to marry me or maybe he is just too ashamed to be gay? “Well how long do I have to wait? I’ve been waiting for 5 years!” “If your so ashamed to be gay then why in the hell are you with me?” screams Bryan. Justin stands their and his eyes fills with tears. Bryan knew he had went to far tears came down from Justin’s eyes and Bryan got up from the ground and tried to hug him but Justin backed away.” I’m not ashamed of being gay!” I’m embarrassed to be affectionate with you around my family.” “Why?” said Bryan. “Because my family doesn’t know I’m gay,” said Justin. “What?” yelled Bryan. “You never told your parents that you were gay!” Justin starts to bawl. Bryan started to feel bad. He realized that he shouldn’t have yelled at him. “Justin I’m sorry, please don’t cry.” Says Bryan as he walks up to Justin and hugs him. Justin squeezes Bryan really tight and bawls on his shoulder. “I’m so sorry baby!” cries Bryan. “I’ll wait as long as it takes baby!” “Please forgive me Justin?” Justin takes his head off of Bryan’s shoulder and looks at him. “Yes I forgive you but you need to understand what I’m going through.” Bryan wipes the tears from Justin’s face and kisses him softly. “Let’s go home and I want to know everything,” says Bryan. “Everything?” questioned Justin. “Yes,” I love you and I’ll wait for us to get married as long as it takes, I just want you to be happy.” “Ok” says Justin. Bryan took Justin by the hand and they got into the truck and went home. As soon as they got home they went upstairs and sat on the bed. Bryan says sympathetically, “What’s going on?” Justin takes a deep breath and says, “They don’t know because I’m afraid there going to disown me.” Bryan sighs and says, “Well all bisexual, lesbian, gay people are worried that their family or parents are going to disown them.” “Yea but it was easy for you, your parents didn’t mind you being gay,” says Justin in a quiet voice. Bryan stands up and turns his back and looks in through the window. “It was hard for my dad. My dad thought of me as this jock that plays football and soccer. The fact is I played those sports to cover up my sexuality. I knew it would kill him if I told him I was gay, but my mom encouraged me to tell him so I did. He didn’t talk to me until a year before he died.” Tears came down from Justin’s eyes. “I’m really sorry,” says Justin quietly. Bryan turns back around at sits on the bed. He grabs Justin’s hands and holds them. “You need to tell your parents before it’s too late,” says Bryan with a concern voice. “What do I do?” says Justin. With a serious tone in his voice Bryan says, “You call them because doing it face to face is better. You tell them you gay and how long you have been gay. You just tell the everything.” “Will you be there to support me?” questioned Justin. “Of course honey anything you want,” says Bryan. Justin lays down on the bed and so does Bryan. Bryan looks at Justin and puts his hands through his hair. “Is it dumb to be scared?” said Justin. “No, not at all,” says Bryan. “I think everyone is scared to come out of the closet and tell their parents.” Bryan kisses Justin and they both went to bed.
