You are transparent as glass
Time runs all-to-fast
Youíre the chill in my spine
Thatís no longer mine
Youíre all of my scars
Youíre my coat of tar
Underneath the feathers
And you were the ink
In every single letter

You have my patchwork heart
Please donít tear it apart
Donít finger the seams
And take away my means
Iím mad as a hatter
And juries donít matter
With a crime like this
Protests are silent
But you will be missed

Call me the worst you can get
Say you wished we never met
Just let your arms around me slip

I promise to take it all back
If you fill in what I now lack
And let me touch your lip
Fill up the burning hole within
Donít let me know where youíve been
Donít tell what you saw
Hold on to your sandpaper tongue
To keep from rubbing me raw
And sigh into me

If you still donít know what you want
Iíll tell you what I want
I want you in the rain
To tell me Iím sane
Youíre eyes on me
Like you can really see
Excuses aside
With no place to hide
To hold you in my hand
To know your demands
To know your lies
To look in your eyes
Have you look at me
But to be happy
So Iíll forfeit the rest
To give you the best
So Iíll sever this tie
And wave the last goodbye
