I wanted all the boys to like me, to look at me, to desire me. I was in desperate need of attention because I lacked it at home. My mother a single parent, worked all the time so she couldn't attend to my needs. I wanted to be loved, loved by men. I lost my father, due to cancer at the tender age of 12, the only man I ever looked up to. Momma was to busy working to explain the does and don'ts about life. So I learned to be independent, my on woman.
I ran the streets here and there lurking around with nothing to do. I taunted men to come talk to me wearing little to nothing. I lost my childhood innocence at the age of 13. I was a mother at the age of 15 and a highschool dropout. I was lost, no guidance, no bright future. I blame my mother for neglecting me, I blame the system for making it hard for single parents to raise their children and earn a living at the same time. I blame the streets for not mentoring the youth. I blame myself for being in a system where there is no pity. I'm lost and can't get around it.

This story is for those who are lost and can't find their way. I don't know if your situation is like mine but I do know that if you feel like I feel then we are somehow connected. You share my pain an I share your yours.
