i'm sitting at work waiting for the hammer to fall, which it surely will once they find out that i have absolutely nothing to do. it wont come today because i attended the departmental staff meeting and made eye contact at least once with all the signatures on my paycheck. next week maybe when i show up hung-over or possibly still drunk, taking bathroom breaks every half hour to wretch in the toilet.

Corporate Cubicle Angst
You captured quite vividly the chronic terror of the cubicle drone - always braced for certain discovery of his utter "non-value-added" dispensability.Your defense - meeting attendance and eye contact with the right players - is brilliant, as is your description of them as "the signatures on my paycheck." Dilbert would be proud!

One minor point of order: the verb "retch" doesn't have a "w." I think you're thinking of the noun "wretch," which would certainly fit this poor character quite nicely.

I must say yours is one of the more clever screen names I've come across in some time. May I call you "span"? Or do you prefer "diego"? : )

Look forward to seeing more from you! Found this in Lonely Posts: blogs are often overlooked here, in my experience. Yet occasionally you can find gems there, even if they seem to lack a little polish. Keep posting!
