Isn't it strange
Quite deranged
Words we say
Games we play
False faces smiling in fright.

Places we go
Oddities we know
Secrets we keep
Times we peep
At things that go bump in the night.

Scars we cover
From each other
Painted masks
No one asks
To put under the microscope.

Naked pain
Blinding rain
Looking for tomorrow
Under the stupor of sorrow
The sterile drycleaning of hope.

The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want now. - Zig Ziglar

very strange delight
Yes. Deelyte. I enjoyed this in a deelytefully strange way. Maybe in Stanza 3 Line 5 you could have put "To put "them" under the microscope" ??
I liked the last line the best. cheers. smithy.

Thanks for the suggestion. I mentally tried it out and with the extra word it seems off beat. Maybe if I changed it to "to place" instead of put. I don't know. I'll play around with it for a bit. At any rate...thanks for the kind words. :-)
