They say, "This builds character"
I don't want to be a cartoon
"There are plenty of fish in the sea"
I just don't know how to fish
Our "days of wine and roses"
Are still upon our tracks
The light at the end of the tunnel
Is the headlight of our past

"like a thief in the night"
you stole my heart
"once in a blue moon"
I'll actually hear from you
All my plans were so right
Now it's just "back to the drawing board" all night

"love is like a rose"
i seem to find all the thorns
"from a birds-eye view"
i'm lost in a river
Wait for tomorrow to find me
Follow the wakes of the waterfall of tears

CB: This made me think:

You stole my character
There's plenty of fish in the night
Like a thief to the drawing board
Lost in a blue headlight...

cartoon tunnel of tears...

Enjoyed the read.

This poem..
s&&ks with the quotes in it becuase its extra baggage along with this poem. I felt it would be stronger without it because they make it seem heavier.

Wasn't sure
Hey Ryan, i wasn't sure about whether or not i should use the quotes, since i used those from something online i was looking at. ya know all about plagurism(sp?). But now that you say something they are just cliches, so now i'm thinking. thanks for the input, but besides the quotes, anything else?

I disagree
I think this poem is all about writing in common addages - or so I thought.

I would leave it as is.

I liked it,
