Presaged by calloused hands,
Compliance with nature’s wrath.

Cold unprofitable enterprise,
Ambition a driving force.

Consequences weighed regardless,
Merit strengthened in purpose.

Invigorated by springs bloom,
Toil and tears rewarded.

Seasons bring new challenges,
Waking necessary life.

Partnership with time fulfilled,
Pilgrimage of a lifetime present.

Realize late summers ecstasy,
Tantalizing entanglements of flavor.

A visionary’s glimpse now reality,
Branches bow heavy with fruit.

------
Freedom is living life without needing perfection

I loved this piece! I spent years growing most of the food (except meats and pastas)my family ate. You had me at the very first line.

Thank you for reading my work and giving me your thoughts. I hope that anyone who has every invested time and effort in anything, a marriage, children, a garden, a friend, would see themselves in this love poem.

Thank you for your comment, the combination of words expressed a very tasty bite indeed. Thanks for noticing.
