The sinking feeling
by Don mohr

It hit me in the gut like a prize
fighters fist-I held my stomach
with two clenched fists-
No butterfly or stinging bee for me,
just dizzy-and a little off key-
My knees buckled out like a belt
too tight-unloosened from the grip
that kept everything alright-
No sooner than I stood, it hit me
once again-that sinking feeling
like love lost me again.
