You have told me, dear father
That there will come soft rains
And great monsoons,
And in my life you have taught me
So wisely, and I have learned
The power of the skies.
You have told me solemnly
That when the deluge will not
Stop and yield to necessity
Some things must always drown.
And you have told me soberly
Without the downpours
The covenant of spring
Will be denied
And everything will die.
I have come to understand
The cycle of this life
That trickles back down to Earth
Only to return back from whence it came.
You have taught me,
With your words
This infinite cycle,
And I believe.
I have found the rain in eternity–
Immortality washing over me
And the waters of the gods will cleanse me
And I will be
Glorious
And I will be
Only yours.
I have found my place of destiny
In arms that hold me
And my faith will free me
And I will be
Glorious
And I will be
Only yours

------
She falls softly down from towering pedastools...

Beautifully said~
I thought this a beautiful piece.....and a simple truth expressed that life, with reason, holds light as well as dark. Your faith shines here.
