Iím talking to a wall now daddy
Canít you see me?
Iíve got a lot to say now daddy
Canít you hear me?
Somewhere I have gone astray
And all I know- Iíve lost my way
Do you remember long ago?
But Iím afraid that answer is a no
We used to laugh
We used to sing
We used to play around the merry-go-ring
I wish I could reach back there now
To the age of innocence
You were just the perfect prince
With I as your maid
We carried on a great charade
But Iím afraid I donít know how
And worse of all is living now
Deep inside I feel so marred
But itís not your fault Iím scarred
You used to say each night in May
May the stars shine along your way
I remember the glories then
The blessings brought upon a child
From the depths of the wild
Butterflies were more like kings
And ants were just the perfect queens
I lost that all years ago
Leaving only gloom to grow
Leaving only this to know
Sometimes life is best to end
Donít get me wrong now daddy
I love you a lot
Itís for you I fought
But Iíll never win this war
Iím not the person I was before
Please forgive me now daddy
But this oneís for me.
