How I long to sob and mourn
But I can't cry.
Want to weep at the laughter and scorn
But I can't cry.
I have bottled up sorrows and boxed up hurt
But I can't cry.
Though my eyes have stung this dam holds true
And these tears will never dampen the pillow.
Someday the dam may burst
And all the pain inside will flow,
And the tears will drown the sorrow within.
All that is in me may pour down my cheeks
And soak the cold night with my gloom,
If only I could cry.

Interesting theme
Feelings of real sorrow are often described as emptiness, something you cant cry out. I also enjoyed the plain and honest title, which catched my eye.

I love how you tapped into painful emotion and related that in verse. Very nice poem.
