Dripping down my sodden face
Years have led me to this place
Tears have been my only gift
Slipping morals gone adrift
Drops of harmless bittersweet
Drown me in your healing heat
Take me to a fantasy
One with pain I cannot see
Joy is but a fragile thing
Transient as a rubber ring
When all is lost and I no more
Take me to your warming shore
Ever silent I have been
All alone the lion’s den
As I weaken day by day
You have been my only stay
Let the dusk come to me
Knowing you will set me free
Dawning in the quiet dark
Wisdom is a lonely spark
Whispering words I wish to hear
Taking all my pain and fear
So now I close my teary eyes
Breathing my last weary sigh
For you I shall not lie
Life is bleak to Death’s sweet peace.
