I met a man from foreign lands
He said he had a tale
Of struggle and survival
and the things that these entail
He spoke of armies on the streets
protecting rich men's wealth
of poisoning the water
and destroying children's health

So welcome to the Group of Eight
Six billion left unheard
We'll put our bodies on the line
to challenge every word

The labour leaves this land of ours
and moves to somewhere new
where workers can't protect themselves
and nations join the queue
The oil mongers still compete
over the spoils of war
They're trading blood for petrol
so that we deplete some more

So welcome to the Group of Eight
Six billion left unheard
We'll put our bodies on the line
to challenge every word

And when the tear gas clouds the sun
and the rubber bullets fly
the only thing that's certain is
we're standing side by side
We'll struggle and we'll organise
and fight to find a way
and we'll resist in harmony
to build a better day

So welcome to the Group of Eight
Six billion left unheard
We'll put our bodies on the line
to challenge every word

Eight
I can hear this in tones of "Midnight Oil". Very original.
