“Professor, what are you doing there?” the security guard asked. The man on the dungeon floor of Warwick Castle looked up. Off came the headphones connected to the box of pulsating lights.

“Fair cop,”Prof Tutti said. ”But remember my success at detecting Death Watch beetles using Sound Technology, well this is a modified pack set for a trial run.”

The guard paused; smiled. “Fascinating stuff,” he replied. ”Tell me more. Surely there aren’t any Death Watch beetles in the concrete below us? So what are you after?”

“OK .You listen.”

“The clicking?”

“ Yes. Vampires. They like to click their teeth.”

What the hell is this? I'm curious to learn more about what's going on in this scene, which I guess is one of the traits of good flash fiction.

It is a bit of SF here. Can we track down 'Vampires' using technology? The sound made by Death Watch beetles can be traced to source...so why not the sound of ...vampires.Come on put on your headphones and just listen...
Thanks for reading
