How Very “Me”

How very slow
The puzzle assembles,
When the pieces aren’t all in the box.

How endless
The warped scavenger hunt;
Seeking elusive bits of “me.”

How blind, how blind, how blind
I was
To trust my connubial protector.

And give him passage
To the secret grottoes
Of my heart, my mind, my person.

How very “me” of me.

How you of you.
So this is what a good poet sounds like.
Mad props for making me look up a word.
Connubial-adj.
Relating to marriage or the married state; conjugal.

LOL I've found myself thumbing through the dictionary more than a few times trying to understand the intended meaning of a piece.

Thanks for stopping in and commenting!

How Very Cool!
The images - the puzzle, the "warped (!) scavenger hunt."

The repetition - "How blind, how blind, how blind..."

The veiled revelation - What did he do to her? You don't say - but we know.

The resolution - Hey, I've met this woman, too! (In the mirror?)

Yeah, I can dance to this.

"Seeking" Felicia...
Had to come back to this one. Don't usually find this subject penned fresh or original. Did here. I'm amazed at open/exposed expression found at Lit...mostly by a few "ladies"..every once in a day or two by one of us. (Peter comes to mind)..

If "we" could only be more like "you"...The age of "Kali" could/would cease.

Peace and Love Forever,

versatile
You're a very versatile writer- your voice changes from piece to piece. It's as if you're writing from the perspective of different people throughout your life and accordingly you exercise different literary tools.

very me
the way you repeat your words and phrases..as to show regret ..and the way you say it..how very me of me...as to show sense of being naive???this is the way I grasped it

nice title for a nice work

Every Heart Comes With a Gate
We love through trusted passage...
swinging open our hearts...
our gated grottoes...
