Just between you and me
Like the night and dawn
Your hand has a hold over my heart
And itís molding to your palm

Squeezing and releasing
Keeping rhythm synchronized
Hopes pulse and hopes fall
You read me through my eyes

Our backs to the mattress
Eyes to the ceiling
Hands brushing lightly
Both alone in this feeling

You didnít have to stay that night
But you did anyways
You didnít have to stay that night
Now I sleep in the warmth where you laid

I wish we could see the stars
Woven in the Providence sky
So we could count them together
From the car seat where weíd lie

One more night with you
Iíd turn the heat up just enough
Until we couldnít see our breath
But trust that weíre still breathing

And Iíd catch my own breath
And put it in your lungs
So I could still breathe inside you
And you could taste me on your tongue

You didnít have to stay that night
But you did anyways
You didnít have to stay that night
Now I sleep in the warmth where you laid
closest to the wall.
