The cliffs of insanity
Are a tempting absolution
And as the edge crumbles beneath your feet
You laugh at the sanity of your solution

Tears of rage and glory
Make your life worth while
And as you scream and twist on the floor
Begging god for something more
You see what this life is about…

Survival of the fittest
The weak are forsaken
And, though your heart may be aching,
You have to go on with the life that you’re making

Love is a privilege
A gift that few receive
And you find yourself groping
For something in which to believe
Your life is reduced to this groping and hoping
Hoping for what you cannot feel
What you find surreal
Hoping only to live until your next meal

A pool of misery
In this land of ‘liberty’
Is the demise
Of the people who risk their lives…
By simply living

“One nation, under god”
We live by the rules that are long gone
And do not see what must be done
To patch the holes
And rebuild the old
We must find something to believe in
Something with the strength to withstand
In this, the free land

------
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendour in the grass,
of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind

(William Wordsworth)
