I wake to a world that is changed.
Four-feet deep, powdered soft
like cashmered-ice. Love, the land
is white. The windows glare their
pale and brilliant light, my skin fairer
now. White glow, almost blue
everywhere - eyes to toes,
freckled nose and ginger hair I am
as pale and cool as some backroad
goddess of Narnia. A regular C.S.
Lewis lover, all ice and cool,
a real princess. No-one would
mess with me now. Not like this,
with my twisted ice sword
so hard it will not crack, with
my frozen heart, my broken
back. All that could have been done
has been done. Who then could
harm such beauty? None.
