I remember the night I met you,
my impossible dream came true,
I tried to hide my feelings inside,
Its almost impossible for me to describe.

As time went on our affections grew,
I realized, the one I wanted was you,
we made the decision to be a “couple”,
I never would have imagined, my heart would grow double.

I remember the song we danced to,
when I first heard the words, “I love you”,
It hit me like a wall of bricks,
I actually went outside and got sick.

You see, love is not what I was searching for,
I was afraid of what would be beyond that door,
Could I do all the things that would make you happy?
Would you feel like I was a little too sappy?

I swallowed my fear and took that dive,
I had no way of knowing I would soon be your wife,
Things have happened that I cannot explain,
fights and words, was it all in vain?

Every marriage has its ups and downs,
A lot of smiles and a lot of frowns,
But I have to say, we’ve always worked through them,
sometimes better than I could have possibly imagined.

There’s a little irony, a lesson to be learned,
a lifetime of love is not owed but earned,
hold onto the good, keep the bad in sight,
because in the end, your intuition was right!

On Love ... and life
I like your style (it's a lot like mine)
And if we keep writing we'll both be fine
Life's a tough old teacher
And man's a hard headed creature
Life first gives us all the test
THEN comes the lesson and all the rest

The Love Shaft
It's one thing to weigh
Love's ups and downs...
and another to regret it
