Different races, different creed
Dying for a noble deed
Lived to serve and to protect
The flag of which they payed respect

Shedding blood for those they love
"Masters of War" made them shoot a dove
They did not kill it, just clipped it's wings
So now it sits, waits and sings

It's song is calm, yet urgent and harsh
We all listen but the soldiers still march
Who knows who is right, who knows who is wrong
"Masters of War" or an injured doves song

Only God knows some may say
Oh how I wish he would tell us all today
So we all would know just what to do
So our boys and our girls could grow old too
